Oxhey Village is extremely well connected for all modes of transport. The village has its own rail station, bus stops and beautiful cycle/walking routes, so we always encourage visitors to arrive, wherever possible, by public transport.

Sustainable transport

By rail – Despite its name, Bushey station is actually located in Oxhey Village. It is served by London Overground’s Lioness Line and national rail, with direct links to London Euston station and Watford Junction station.

By bus – The area is served by London Bus routes 142 and 258. To find more details of bus routes and timetables for Oxhey Village, you can use Transport for London’s journey planner tool.

By bike – Watford’s Beryl bike-share scheme is available in Oxhey Village. Bikes can be hired using an app you can hop on, and hop off, wherever you need to. There are two Beryl bike locations: The junction of Aldenham Road and Chalk Hill / Oxhey Village Green, close to the entrance to Paddock Road Allotments

Local walking routes

Merry Hill Walk – Experience the local countryside with a four-mile circular walk between Bushey, Oxhey and Carpenders Park. On this walk, you can explore 100 hectares of woodland, meadows and ponds, with view as far as Windsor. Download the map of Merry Hill Walk.

The Ebury Way – A 3.5-mile trail running between Rickmansworth and Watford. The route crosses three rivers; The River Colne, River Chess and River Gade as well as the Grand Union Canal. The path, through lakes and fields in Rickmansworth, is shared with walkers and cyclists. Its origin as the Watford and Rickmansworth Railway endows it with generous width and gentle gradient making it ideal for family cycling. It forms part of National Cycle Network Route 61.
