Hundreds of residents basked in the heat as Oxhey Village Brewfest returned for its second instalment on Saturday 14 April 2018.
The Rifle Volunteer and The Villiers Arms jointly hosted the event, supported the Oxhey Village Brewery and OVEG. The two pubs were overflowing into incredibly busy beer gardens.
Hundreds of local residents turned out to enjoy the fine weather and ales, and a lucky few had the task of sampling, and judging, an array of local brews and spirits. Paul Hudson, Jo Friend and Laura Godfrey unanimously agreed that Richard Charnock’s Mirabelle Vodka was the star of the spirits. Paul then made his way to the Rifle Volunteer to judge the local beers, where Starry Nights from The Malt Brewery took the crown.
Throughout the day, The Village Kitchen served up fresh pizza and the air was filled with live jazz from London’s 10 Bells Rag Band.
Better still, the event raised £800 for Watford’s Peace Hospice.
Thank you to everyone who helped make Brewfest a great success. Especially Oxhey Village Brewery, The Rifle Volunteer, The Villiers Arms, The Village Kitchen, Watford CAMRA, Al Forno, Cafe Marta, The Ten Bells Rag Band, and the judges/tasters.
