Thank you, Ian Mackay

It is with deep sadness that we found out of the passing of Ian Mackay who died suddenly on 7 January 2016.

Ian was a significant member of the Oxhey Village community who was involved in many aspects of village life. He was one of the founding members of the Friends of Attenborough Fields and worked closely with OVEG on numerous issues over the years. Ian was a volunteer speaker for The Woodland Trust for over 10 years and had a keen interest in local history, recording Oxhey’s past in print, on film, and in the book ‘Oxhey in Pictures’ that he co-published in 2000. He also designed and was pivotal in commissioning the war memorials on the Village Green and Watford Heath.

Ian’s wife and family have asked us to make it known that his burial will be at Greenacres Woodland Burials (Chiltern), Potkiln Lane, Jordons, Beaconsfield, Bucks HP9 2XB at 11am on Thursday 28th January, followed by a wake at Bushey Hall Golf Club, Bushey Hall Drive, Bushey WD23 2EP from 1pm. All are welcome at both or either venue.

Ian will be sorely missed by all who knew him, may he rest in peace.

Any donations in memory of Ian should be made to The Woodland Trust.
