Covid-19 is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. It’s caused by a virus called coronavirus.
Stay at home if you have any of the coronavirus symptoms:
- a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or three or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
To protect others, do not go to places like a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.

Community support
OVEG has set up a network of over 100 community volunteers who can help you if you are self-isolating. They can help with picking up shopping, posting mail, picking up urgent supplies, or just a friendly phone call.
If you live in Oxhey Village you should have received a card through your door with the details of the volunteers in your road.
