Two significant planning applications have been submitted recently in the Aldenham Road/Ye Corner area. Neither is a total surprise, both being sites where development proposals have seemed likely to come forward for some time.
At 9–13 Aldenham Road, the applicants are seeking to demolish an industrial unit (next to the Railway public house) and build a total of 15 one- and two-bedroom flats. To view and comment on the plans go to http://pa.watford.gov.uk/publicaccess/search.do?action=simple – the planning application reference number is 17/00685/FULM.
There is also a an application to build 15 flats on land behind Ye Corner, including the site of 48 Chalk Hill. To view and comment on the plans go to http://pa.watford.gov.uk/publicaccess/search.do?action=simple – the planning application reference number is 17/00654/FULM.
We sometimes get asked about the shortness of the consultation period on planning applications, which give little time to make comments. The statutory period for consultation is 21 days and this can’t be changed, but in practice Watford Council will accept and consider comments and objections received after the formal deadline, right up to when the decision is made.
