Van & Tool Marking Event

A crime prevention event is taking place in Watford tomorrow, to help people keep their vans and tools more secure from thieves. Officers will be providing advice and information as well as fitting tamperproof number plate screws, through the PL4TE S4FE scheme.

The event will take place on Thursday 15th November 2018 between 09.30-14.00hrs at SCREWFIX, IMPERIAL WAY, WATFORD WD24 4PP.

PCSO Dominik Tokarczyk, from Watford Safer Neighbourhood team, has organised the event and said ” We encourage people to come along and get information on how they can keep their vehicles and tools more secure.

He added “We always advise people to remove tools from vehicles overnight. If this is not possible, fit a good quality tool safe and try and park near to a garage, fence or brick wall to restrict access. It is also good to mark your tools, this makes them less attractive to thieves as they are harder to sell on.

” If you see anyone acting suspiciously near vehicles, call police on 999, if you believe a crime is in progress or 101 if reporting retrospectively.”
