Can you help at Watford’s jazz festival?

Watford Jazz Junction, 10th to 18th May 2025

The week-long Watford Jazz Junction festival runs 10-18 May bringing many of the world’s great jazz musicians to town, culminating with Jazz Steps here in Oxhey Village. And if you’d like to volunteer to help out, then there are lots of ways to get involved.

Across the first seven days of the festival, stellar shows include Vanessa Haynes (of Incognito) presenting Aretha Franklin at Watford Palace Theatre and Elaine Delmar at Halsey Hall before moving to the Pump House Theatre & Arts Centre for a series to hear a Grammy winner, 2 Jazz FM Awards 2025 short list nominees, the greatest blues band in the country, and a very special concert about local heroes and legends from Watford.

Everything rounds off with Jazz Steps on Sunday 18 May. With more than 25 more bands performing across the afternoon, the event links up all six of our local pubs, the Bowls Club and St Matthew’s Church, Oxhey church Hall. Plus there’s a main stage on Oxhey Green with 4 more professional acts. Music covers jazz, blues, funk, soul, big bands (with dancing) and more. And best of all it is all accessed for free.

Lots of volunteers are needed to help make it all work. So, if that’s you, then please drop a line to jazz@watfordjazzjunction.com. It’s always a lot of fun and it’s a great experience to be part of the team and become an official back-stager!
