Barhale site update

Many residents are concerned about the use of the depot between Grover Road, Pinner Road and Bushey Station by GFL and Network Rail. The noise being generated at the site and the loss of vegetation has been highlighted.

Watford Council’s Environmental Health department are monitoring the situation closely and have visited the site on several occasions. Unfortunately, planning permission was not needed by the current occupiers of the site as it was previously used as a depot and this is still the case.

The site was used by Network Rail (and their contractors) as a base for the railway upgrade work over the bank holiday weekend. This upgrade has been ongoing since May 2014 and should now have been completed, hopefully reducing the level of activity at the depot. However, the council continues to investigate complaints of noise nuisance and is currently looking into the use of a concrete crusher. Officers have agreed to take “all action possible” to reduce the impact on local residents.
