A number of residents have raised concerns about the ongoing works by GFL. This can be seen from the platform at Bushey station and affects the bank behind the gardens of some residents on Grover Road. Since GFL took over the site, the relevant enforcement agencies have been involved over various problems – from noise nuisance to concerns about the work on the embankment.
Following recent works on the bank, Oxhey’s ward councillors contacted Watford Council’s Environmental Health and Building Control teams. This resulted in the site being visited by the Heath and Safety Executive (HSE). They reported that GFL had stabilised the embankment and introduced an exclusion zone. A technical survey was undertaken to identify what further measures need to be taken. HSE will now be working with GFL to ensure that they take any measures necessary to ensure the safety of the site.
