A message from new Watford Chief Inspector Dave Wheatley (via Neighbourhood Watch)…
Dear Watch Member,
I am writing to introduce myself as the new Chief Inspector covering Watford. I recently joined the area, having spent the past 12 months in the same role in Welwyn Hatfield.
In this role have responsibility for the overall policing across Watford and I am delighted to be joining such a vibrant and bustling borough. My predecessor, Nick Caveney did a remarkable job in reducing crime and anti-social behaviour in the town and I am dedicated to building on this progress.
Since April this year, crime continues to see a downward trend across the board.
I recognise the vital role that all members of Neighbourhood Watch, and those signed up to Community Messaging, play in supporting police in achieving low levels of crime by reporting suspicious activity to us and passing on vital crime prevention information. Please never under estimate the vital contribution you all make.
Our focus for the next performance period remains crime reduction, particularly looking at criminal damage and burglary.
All the best and thank you again for your efforts and commitment
Chief Inspector for Watford
Dave Wheatley
