Over the past few weeks, you may have noticed work taking place on the Watford Heath War Memorial.
These works have now been completed and we’re grateful to Paul Ryan (Watford Heath resident who initially got in touch about the repairs and coordinated efforts with the council) and Andrew Filer for his assistance.
We would also like to thank Watford Council and their contractors. This war memorial is of great significance to our community and all those involved took great care and consideration at every stage including delaying the work to ensure they could source the right materials, and removing the scaffold and work equipment so our remembrance service could take place without disturbance.
Finally, we’d like to say thank you to Rob Marsh, a local builder who had graciously offered to carry out the repairs free of charge – a very generous offer which we thankfully didn’t have to take up.
