Wildlife Gardening Champions

CALLING KEEN WILDLIFE GARDENERS IN OXHEY!

Would you like to be part of a team that provides practical advice to other Oxhey residents on how to make their gardens more wildlife-friendly?

This is a new, free service that OVEG is hoping to set up for Oxhey residents who want to support wildlife and increase biodiversity.  Following a resident’s request to OVEG, a pair of wildlife gardening champions will be asked to visit their garden and give advice on anything they could do to make it more wildlife-friendly.  Whilst not everyone will be able to do everything that is suggested, encouraging them to make just a few small changes will help.

Free training will be provided by the Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust, with support from more experienced champions who are already doing this successfully in St Albans.  As a wildlife-friendly champion, you can carry out as many or as few visits as you feel able to.

So, if you enjoy gardening, want to increase biodiversity and are interested in helping others in Oxhey to make their gardens more wildlife-friendly, please email shirena.counter@oveg.org giving your name and contact telephone number by 4th April.

Please also share with anyone who doesn’t receive these emails who might be interested in signing up.
