The Oxhey Village Summer Fayre took place on Saturday 15 June 2013. It was held on Oxhey Village Green and organised by OVEG Fayre Coordinator, Caron Brennan,
This fayre, our 38th, is perhaps best remembered for its very British downpours. While the weather wasn’t exactly on our side, attendees and organisers powered on regardless. In fact, there were comments at the time that the need to take shelter in tents encouraged more socialising than would have normally been the case.
Despite the weather, the Fayre’s costs were recouped. Sadly, though, the event didn’t make a profit, which had a subsequent effect on OVEG’s grant scheme.
We were grateful to all the event’s generous sponsors and participants. In particular, Elaine at The Railway Arms for arranging the Pimms tent with all the proceeds going to OVEG. Also, Pete from EasiGrass, who donated his entire takings for the Pitch ‘n’ Putt.
