Remembrance Day Service 2018

We met on Sunday 11 November 2018, for the village’s Remembrance Day service and memorial walk. In keeping with annual tradition, we met at the Oxhey Village Green memorial and continued to Watford Heath memorial.

This was a particularly important year, as we marked the 100th anniversary of the signing of the armistice. After a short service on Oxhey Green, we’ll be walking through the village to the memorial cross on Watford Heath.

Special thanks to Reverend Richard Lowson, the Brownies, Guides and Scouts, Ian Bramfield for the Last Post, John for his reading and Lynn, Raj, Jill, Beth, Sam, and Maggie for laying wreaths.

Thanks to Dominik and his colleagues from Herts Police, Oxhey Bowls Club, Watford Council Parks and Open Spaces, Lynn for printing the order of service, and our volunteer marshals along the walk.

Lastly, thank you to Andrew Filer for organising the event and Dylan Nolte for the fantastic photos. You can find more of Dylan’s work at dylannolte.com and on his Instagram
