First World War Commemoration Project

2014 marks the beginning of the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War. During the national four-year commemoration, communities and organisations across the country will remember those who died and those who experienced life on the Home Front.

Bushey Museum and Art Gallery in conjunction with the Bushey Academy will be staging an exhibition to record the story of Bushey during the First World War for the present generation. It will aim to increase awareness of the level of personal sacrifice and the effects of war on the local community and will specifically involve young people.

A number of events are being planned to coincide with the exhibition.
