WBC are holding a drop-in session to present their current plans for Oxhey Park North on Saturday 11 March 2017 from 10am to 12.30pm at The Living Room (formerly the café), Wellspring Centre, 1 Wellspring Way, Watford WD17 2AH
What is planned for Oxhey Park North?
Last year we shared our plans for Oxhey Park North. These set out how we could transform the area, which includes the former Irish Centre and car park, into a family-focused centre for cycling, skate boarding and play with the added benefits of a new café facility in the Park with community facilities and toilets. In addition, the plans provide a great opportunity to improve the River Colne and open up walking and cycling routes through the Park.
We received a tremendous amount of feedback from the local community on these plans. Over the last few months we have been looking at all the feedback and using it, along with the opportunities offered by the site, to help us review and shape our plans.
We have kept many of the features of the original plans (skate park, BMX track, café, community room and toilets) but have made some changes. These include: an accessible play area, mountain bike track, outdoor table tennis tables, walkways through the site and, overall, more green space.
The drop-in session
Our updated plans for Oxhey Park North will be on display at the session. These show how all the different parts of the plans come together to create an exciting new facility for the community and how it will fit in with the rest of the Park and the surrounding environment. We will be on hand to talk the plans through with you and there will be an opportunity for you to share your views.
Bring the family
We know Saturday morning can be a busy time if you have a family, so we have organised some activities for young people to keep them occupied whilst you focus on the plans and feeding back to us. There will also be some refreshments available.
