The OVEG Annual General Meeting was held on Thursday 10 March 2016. We hosted the event at Bushey and Oxhey Methodist Church on Chalk Hill.
As always tea, coffee and biscuits were served to keep things nice and civilised while committee members provided their annual reports.
This year, we updated the wording to OVEG’s stated aims. We welcomed several new members onto the committee and created the new roles of Commercial Officer, Volunteers Co-ordinator and Archivist. The traditional role of the Village Liaison Officer was changed to Planning & Environment Officer to more accurately reflect what the role entails.
Significant personnel changes included the departure of two longstanding OVEG committee members: Alan Luto and Ben Atkins. Alan had been a committee member for 14 years, initially as Fayre Coordinator and then Village Liaison Officer, while Ben had served I0 years (having been recruited by Alan), also as Fayre Co-ordinator before becoming Chair.
A membership price increase took effect, reflecting inflation over the years, and the costs of increased benefits to members such as the improved website, maintenance and social media/news feeds. We introduced a 50% discount for those aged over 65.
The following members were elected to the OVEG committee:
- Ian Davis – Chair
- Rob Kirby – Deputy Chair
- Stephanie Thiers-Ratcliffe – Secretary
- Ellen Millington – Treasurer
- Michelle Potts Barton – Membership Secretary
- Matt Acornley – Publicity Officer

- Carrie Maestas – Newsletter Editor
- Paul Hudson – Fayre Co-ordinator
- Richard King – Commercial Officer
- Douglas McQuaid – Archivist
- Sue Kelly -Volunteers Co-ordinator
