The Big Breakfast 2018

The Big Breakfast took place on Saturday 24 March 2018 at Keyser Hall on Lower Paddock Road.

The OVEG committee, along with a fantastic team of volunteers, cooked, served, toasted, brewed, waited and cleaned up after 146 breakfasts. Along with the traditional fry up were cereals, pastries and Sue Kelly’s homemade fruit conserves.

A highlight of the day was the traditional yearly view of OVEG Chair Ian Davis’s Big Breakfast apron.

Once the last customer had left, the volunteer team were justly rewarded, and sat down together for a well earned breakfast (and a last bit of washing up.)

The event raised £900 for Watford’s Peace Hospice. We were grateful to all of our volunteers, as well as the event’s supporters: We were grateful to: Patsy Probert, Tina Howard, Sue Waller, Rose and Judith Rackley, Jan Sherlock, Ros Haywood, Jackie and Chris, Liz and Emily Whitehead, Dylan Nolte, Oxhey Conservative Club for use of their facilities, Lovedays Bakery, Villiers Coffee House, Brown’s Greengrocers, The Village Kitchen, Tesco Watford, and Sainsbury’s Watford.
