The Big Breakfast took place on Saturday 26 September 2026 at Bushey Baptist Church.
In just three hours, our volunteers served almost 130 breakfasts for the community. Thanks to the generosity of diners – we raised more than £800 for Watford’s Peace Hospice and New Hope.

We were grateful to our hosts, Bushey Baptist Church, and everyone who cooked, cleaned and served throughout the morning.
As part of the Big Breakfast, we aim to source as much produce as possible from local suppliers. We were grateful to local businesses who generously provided food and drink, including:
- RefillAbell for delicious compotes, honey and granola
- Loveday bakery for bread, pains au chocolat and croissants
- Ducks Hill Farm for locally produced eggs
- Oxhey Village Dairy for donating milk
- NJ Shallis Butcher for providing black pudding
- Newsbit for Watford Observers

Following the event, we had some surplus food and drink, which we were delighted to donate to Watford Foodbank and Red Trust Bushey.
We’re only able to run community events like the Big Breakfast thanks to the support of our members. If you’re not currently an OVEG member, please consider supporting our work by joining today.
