The OVEG Annual General Meeting was held on Tuesday 25 February 2014. We hosted the event at Bushey and Oxhey Methodist Church on Chalk Hill.
Bet Atkins, who had been involved with OVEG for many years, took over from Ruth Blake as chair. Ruth decided to remain on the committee as secretary.
We said farewell to Trina Mansfield, Caron Brennan and Mark Brett, all of whom stepped down from the OVEG committee.
At the meeting, Ben updated on recent local planning issues, including plans to demolish 83 Upper Paddock Road. He also referenced our public meeting, held on 25 March 2014, to discuss Watford Borough Council’s plans for an Oxhey Conservation Area.
Ben also talked about upcoming events, including the Oxhey Village Bake Off and the Summer Fayre. He alluded to the previous year’s Summer Fayre, which was the wettest in living memory and effectively rained off, brining substantial financial difficulties.
Several members joined the OVEG committee for the first time: Kim Baxter, Douglas McQuaid, Paul Sherwood. Sue Kelly was a returning member, having served on the original OVEG committee in 1974.
