Jumble Trail raises £300 for Watford Foodbank

Last week’s Oxhey Village Jumble Trail 2026 saw dozens of visitors wandering around the village in search of a bargain.

Almost 50 residents set up stalls outside their homes, turning their front doorsteps into bric-a-brac stores for the day. As is often the case for the Jumble Trail, residents told us they’d had a fantastic day of chatting with neighbours and meeting new people.

Our chosen charity for the event was Watford Foodbank, and we’re delighted that donations from stall holders, and sales of the official map, helped raise £280. The OVEG committee has also agreed to top-up the final amount to £300 – helping to support this local charity that does amazing work for people in crisis.

We were also pleased to receive a significant amount of food donations – enough to fill a car boot – including pasta, rice, biscuits and tea bags. Our volunteers have delivered the goods to the food bank.

Throughout the day, we sold almost 100 maps, guiding treasures hunters all over the village; from Villiers Road and Firbank Drive, to Oxhey Avenue and Cross Rad, plus many others.

Amongst a wide variety of goods on sale, such as toys, books, clothes, and food, those passing down Villiers Road were able to taste fresh lemonade, as well as having the chance to taste snacks from new local business Yona’s Crisps.

Special thanks must go to OVEG member Miranda, who made the event possible by coordinating the stalls. We were also grateful to The Rifle Volunteer for allowing us to sell maps outside the pub.
